Farewell 2011! It's been a good one...

So tomorrow evening, my roommate Shannon and friends Justin, Craig, Sadie, Colter, Mike, possibly Patrick, and Nate and I have awesome New Years Eve plans. We are going to dress up in our finest, eat dinner together and find a few parties to crash. I am so ecstatic for this plan because usually my New Year's Eve consists of hanging around with the family til midnight drinking Martinelli's sparkling cider and eating shrimp cocktail. Last year I was even playing Angry Birds on my dad's iPad when the clock struck twelve. This year is going to be a little more exciting, I hope.

Soo....It's been a little while...

Sometimes, when I am doing something productive, or when I'm not by a computer, I will remember that I do actually have a blog...And that I love my blog...But then when I get within a 15 foot radius of a computer, I forget immediately. So that is what happened to me over the past 4 or however many months.

College is okay, I guess, but I've decided that I want to spread my little baby bird wings and officially leave the nest. For my family, that just means that I don't want to be financed by my parents anymore. So. I have made the decision to work full-time and pull out of school for a little while. There are SO many details and thoughts that went into this huge decision, but I've gone over them so many times over the past couple weeks that I really don't feel like vomiting them out all over the internet at this time. Maybe later.

Now some of you in my imaginary audience may be wondering what my life is like in the land of Orem, Utah...The only thing I can really say is that SO many things have changed in just the past month of my life, I can hardly believe that I am the same person. I don't know if I've ever opened up so much to so many people at the same time. I trust my little circle of college buds so much, it's odd to think that we haven't known each other for eons. I've had so many more full-disclosure conversations with these people than with any other friends I think I have ever had. It's so strange.

I've really got to go wrap presents now. Merry Christmas!! We'll see if I can continue to write on this somewhat consistently...

Updated Ramblings...

So I'm off to college on Friday evening. I will unload my things the next morning at UVU. :) When I woke up this morning, I was so full of things to say, but now I can't really think of anything. Most of my excitement and anxiety is summed up in those first two sentences. I better go pack.

I've give up.

So...The whole 30 days of blogging thing was an epic fail on my part. I've proven to myself that I can't get on my blog everyday. It's practically impossible. But isn't that a good thing? That I actually have a life and I'm not wasting it away by being egotistical all over the internet and posting about my existence daily? Or maybe I'm hopeless with being consistent and meeting goals and persisting. Probably the second, because we all know it wasn't like I was staying off pointless internet sites... I'm guilty of facebook posting, Bones watching, and I spent WAY too many hours watching "How to speak in a Scottish accent" videos on youtube, among other things.
Term I made up for the day: Impromptu dissonance :)

Okay, so I've proven that I'm terrible at getting on my blog everyday....Day 27, 26, 24, 23, and 22...

Day 23: A picture of the person/people you do the craziest things with.
That boy up there. We do crazy things... That's me in the background in the green shirt and the horrible posture. :) I love that boy up there. He is crazy. :)

Day 24: Picture of the people who have gotten you through the most.
My mother (Of course) and my sister. Enough said.

Day 25: A picture from last night.
Watched Bones, of course!! :)
Day 26: A Great memory from school.
So this isn't AT school, but me and my hilariously funny guyfriend Jacob Malaska were about to GO to a school dance. :) Best. Date. Ever. :)

Day 29: Picture of you and the person you've been close with for a long time...

My sister is definitely the person that I've been closest to the longest. She takes me to movies(like Megamind!!!) and is constantly buying me big presents and lots of food. She is such a great sister, and a fantastic friend. Kimber has been my best friend through all of our tough moves from state to state and can always make me laugh. Thanks, Lee-Lou!!

Oh yeah...About That...

I forgot to say that I am a BLONDE Lucy Van Pelt. I ended up refusing any artificialness. My mother is a bit irked, but she'll get over it. I think I'm very crabby-esque on stage, and that covers for it. :) I can't help it if the stage lights on my hair make me look like I have a halo.

Rediscovered Band + New Band = Eternal Happiness for the Ears

Just a quick note on the previous post--I am NOT a celiac!! :D I can eat many bagels and donuts and pastas and all of that lovely stuff. However, I AM lactose-intolerant...AGAIN. Mom says that I'm just intolerant in general. Ha ha, Mom. Now on to the topic of today's post...

I am currently obsessed with two bands...well, more like one guy's voice and another band. The rediscovered band/fantastic guy's voice is....Panic! At the Disco! I LOVE Brendon Urie. I've decided I don't care how many times he gets high a week, I still love his freakin' vocal-chords. :) The NEW band is called My Favorite Highway. When I try to tell people about them, this is usually what it sounds like:
Me: Have you ever heard of 'My Favorite Highway'?
Them: No, what is it? I-15?
Me: No. It's a band.
Them:Your favorite highway is a band? I don't get it...

And then I go on explaining to Them that My Favorite Highway is this fantastic group that has everything I like in their music. Then I bring up the sad truth that they broke up in December 2010, right BEFORE I found out about them! Merg.

Also. "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" is now playing in the Hurricane Community Theater for the next 2 weekends and this up-coming Monday. It's pretty entertaining. :) The Van Pelt siblings are the best part, if I do say so myself. Come and remember your childhood...Unless you were born after the 1970's...Then this is basically just whole bunch of snippets from the Classic Peanuts comic strip. Also, Today is April 5, 2011, and it is 9:35 pm. I don't know why it says otherwise.

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown!

It's hard to believe that our cast has just over 4 weeks 'til opening night!!! We started rehearsals in January and the production is in April. Oh boy, oh boy. I was cast as Lucy Van Pelt (for my personality, I'm sure) despite the fact that my hair is not NEARLY Lucy's color. I believe I shall be wearing a wig or have EXTREMELY WASHABLE hair dye. That is probably the part that I'm the most scared about. The hair. Not the acting or singing or being on stage in front of a ton of people, just the hair. The other stuff is what I'm excited about!!
Another quick update is that I will be getting tested for Celiac Disease (A condition where the digestive system cannot handle a wheat product called gluten) pretty soon. Which means I have to get my blood drawn. NOT my cup of tea. For the longest time I've been having stomach problems, but it was just brushed off as something else. I've tried going off gluten before, however, it was only for a week or two and it didn't help. My father has just informed me that a week or two is not long enough to determine the helpfulness of a gluten-free diet. Therefore, we decided that I shall be tested. Joy.
Although there are a few other things going on in my life right now, these are the only ones I actually feel like posting about. And so, I conclude.

Yes, my siblings keep leaving to go to foreign countries....NO, it's not because of me.

So yesterday, I was skyping Jared, and he says, "I feel so forgotten! All of the attention is on Kimber in Thailand."
Jenna: "Yeah, tell me about it."

Jared: "What do you mean??"

Jenna: "Well, it is MY Senior Year and instead of the year being MY year, it's turned into 'Let's go off to a foreign country' year. No body is home and I don't get any attention."

Jared: "Oh. I can see how you could feel that way, but at least you're with the family."

WHA??? YOU, my dear Jared, DECIDED to leave the country and be lonely!! You didn't have to and no one really encouraged you to go. It was all by your choice. So don't be looking to me for attention.

For all of you that may be interested, I just got the part of Lucy, in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." I am VERY excited about this lead and the show is the first week of April! Hope to see you there.

New Year with new problems...

The very first thing I did this year is play "Angry Birds" on my dads new iPad. I didn't get kissed, I didn't bang pots and pans around, I just sat on the couch while the rest of my family was in bed or drinking sparkling cider. We are so exciting.

So I'm seriously thinking of betraying Blogspot and creating a vlog on YouTube. I know, I know. I can't even update my Blog regularly, what makes me think that I could handle a Vlog?? Well. The truth is...I'm a little bit obsessed with a certain vlogger named Charlie McDonnell. From England. So he has kind of inspired me to create my own vlog (Okay, he is completely the reason behind my desire to vlog). I am not funny like Charlie, nor do have an awesome accent; but I do have some musical talents that I would like to share with the world. That will probably be my vlog purpose. A musical vlog! TTFN
